Japanese Pop Culture

Sharkskin Man and Peach Hip Girl Over the past couple of years, I've become an absolute junkie for Japanese films. That's led me to read up on other aspects of that nation's pop culture, and I have to say - that's a pretty messed-up country, psychology-wise. Where else can one find tentacle porn, comic books created for housewives, vending machines that carry schoolgirls' used panties, and the hellish chimera that is Hello Kitty? But, I don't mean to pick on the Japanese people; I love them. And I hope to spread a little love in this section. Most of it will concern movies for the time being, but as soon enough I'll touch on other pop-culture items originating from that mysterious land as well.
